5v external power adaptor? 13 Years, 10 Months ago
Hi there, love the UD-10 but wondered whether it was possible to use an external 5v 500mA power adaptor with it? I saw the batter pack on the site but I didn't order it with the UD-10 and due to shipping costs it would be easier to use a 5v adaptor that I already own. Many thanks, Dan.

The external power supply (+5V DC, 100-200mA usage, better to provide up to 500mA for buffer).

The fully charged batteries can plays more than 10 hours continously.

The charging time is about 2 hours(too fast charging will reduce the lifetime of the batteries).

A couple of things I found with the UD-10. First of all the generic Chinese batteries were worthless, they failed after the first charge cycle. I picked up a 4 battery charger and eight spares at Home Depot and it's working out great. I get about twelve hours per charge with the energizers. I also got a 5v - 500 ma adapter which didn't work out so great. For sound quality I would rank batteries best then USB and the adapter a distant third. I'm sticking with batteries except when for convenience I use USB.
