I have exact the same problem. Unit stopped working last Friday and couldn't be recognized by 6 machines I tried in my company (all w/ Windows XP service pack 2). Can someone from Trends Audio throw some useful light before I send it back to buyoyo (hate to do that coz it is oversea shipping for me)?

Please switch off the Trends UD-10 (take out USB cable from the Trends UD-10) when you use external power (i.e. Trends UD-10 Charger Kit). and please DO NOT use normal batteries with 1.2V x4=6V. Otherwise, the Burr Brown PCM2704 IC may be burnt out.
