I have 2 product suggestions. I though I posted them, but perhaps it didn't work. * A combination USB DAC and T-amp (integrating the UD-10 and TA-10). I think this would sell well. 1 box between computer and speakers. High quality due to direct interconnects. * Direct amplifying DAC: This might require a new chip from Tripath, but as I understand it, a T-amp converts the analog input into a bitstream, and then converts that into an amplified analog output. So you have to go USB digital -> analog line input -> bitstream -> analog speaker out. The USB digital to bitstream could be done completely in the digital realm - so mathematically perfectly, skipping a stage. USB digital -> digital bitstream -> amplified speaker output. This would be an entirely new product, though functionally identical to the first suggestion.

It seems the second option I suggested has been done, e.g. the Panasonic SA-XR receivers, but there would be a big niche for a more audiophile construction - good power supply etc., but affordable integrated "digital amp"...
