The Burr Brown PCM2704 IC may be burnt out. Please switch off the Trends UD-10 (take out USB cable from the Trends UD-10) when you use external power (i.e. Trends UD-10 Charger Kit). and please DO NOT use normal batteries with 1.2V x4=6V.
